Use our guide to help you find ceramics, artwork & natural cosmetics made by local artisans. Perhaps purchase these locally produced items as souvenirs or gifts. Enjoy the 'festas'. We can help you to locate both traditional & modern festivals taking place across the Algarve, from Sardine Festivals to the spectacular Medieval Festa of Silves. Respect & enjoy the landscape of the area & protect the flora and fauna by leaving them undisturbed. If you're interested in wildlife or bird watching, there's plenty of opportunity to witness some spectacular birds of prey, beautiful butterflies, exotic lizards & much more. We can put you in touch with walking & cycling groups who have expert knowledge of the area. Minimise pollution - Whenever possible please use biodegradable products such as 'Ecover' washing up liquid, detergent, and biodegradable shampoos & shower products. Please try to recycle your household packaging when on holiday. Look out for recycling points on all major roads. We welcome all your compostable waste - Ask our key holders to direct you to the compost heap! Conserve energy when doing your laundry & please remember to switch off lights. All our hot water is generated by solar power but please conserve water where possible. Spread the word - Most people's preconceptions about the Algarve are distorted- away from the big hotels, tennis & golf courses lies an extraordinary region with serene countryside & a laid back atmosphere.
